CONSULT
The first stage is to work together to find what your needs are and what key points the product will aim to have such as it’s intended use and market. We will discuss ethics and important points to your product that will influence the brief
BRIEF
After giving a quote for the product formulation with a breakdown of lead times and the process we will prepare a detailed visual brief of our interpretation of the product concept. You can then give feedback on this view of your bespoke product, taking away or adding extra details we have missed to give a good base to build the formulation up from.
FORMULATE
Over the next 2-3 weeks we will prepare the first draft formulation of your product based on the brief. We will prepare a few different variations to give examples of the possible scent directions as well as the products performance such as how it will burn or how it reacts with the skin and the final effect.
SAMPLE
Once the samples have been sent to you for review with our detailed notes of each sample you can provide feedback either online or in person when we present them to you. Based upon your review we can then redraft the samples.
REDRAFT
The product samples will be reformulated based on the sample reviews with some being left behind and the best being tweaked and changed to become closer to your perfect formula. This process of sampling and redrafting is repeated for as long as it takes to get the perfected product. It usually only takes three rounds of tweaks and redrafts but we don’t put a limit on this stage as we value the product being perfect for you.
TEST
Once the product has been approved by you we can proceed with testing for the intended use. This may be candle burn tests and safety assessments or EU safety testing. For EU testing we work with a top UK lab to make sure the product is compliant and ready for sale.
